Agial Art Gallery presents ‘Vivarium,’ an exhibition by Omar Fakhoury from Jan. 26- Feb. 18

Born in Beit Chabab in 1979, Omar Fakhoury is a multidisciplinary visual artist. He holds a Bachelor in Painting and Drawing from the Lebanese University and a Masters of Fine Arts from Paris I- Sorbonne. He is currently a lecturer at the Lebanese University (IBA II) and at the University of Saint-Joseph (IESAV).

Vivarium is a series of works on precarious living spaces. In this exhibition, Omar Fakhoury explores the shelters and habitats of the city’s sentries: The army, construction site workers and car parking security guards. While high-rise buildings are shaping the Beirut landscape, these naïve structures have become the ghosts of an exhausted city always yearning to be remodeled.
