Arab News: Middle east art online: The power of culture in the region

A great article by Arab News that discusses the Art of the Mid East blog in length! The article was published in today’s Arab News newspaper.

“Almost every country and region in the world has a large online presence, including blogs and websites, dedicated to their respective art scene. However, there is neither a blog nor a strong online presence totally focused on Middle Eastern art.

That’s what pushed half Finnish and half Lebanese Taymour Grahne who is currently based in Boston, to write the first blog completely dedicated to Middle Eastern art: artofthemideast.com.

“I felt it was vital that the Middle Eastern art scene including Turkish and Iranian art be represented online. I don’t want the region’s flourishing art scene to be left out of this growing trend towards the blogosphere” says Grahne who is graduating from Boston University.” (from the article cited below)

  1. There are many colleges of fine arts in the Middle Eas !! New fine are painters ae there every year.
The question is : where is their creative work ?and where can the talented Arab artist can be
    found ?
Few intellectuals are interested in this field. Most of them are deeply consumed by political or
religious discussions. They are being payed and attracted by un-identified illiterate dominant groups
that inherited their posture from past colonial interests.
Now ,it is the vital role that can be played by international enlightened forces,to put things in order.
They have to look for and discover the merited artist ,by supporting them and leading them to the
    right path of art!!
